This photographic series was born from a project with La Dolce Vita, a space where light, design, and everyday gestures invite us to look beyond the plate.
In today’s visual culture, photography in restaurants doesn’t merely document what is served—it captures what is lived. Indeed, it goes far beyond food styling or the perfect plate composition. Rather, it becomes a way of reading spaces, interpreting light, discovering textures, and capturing emotions that often go unnoticed.
At the same time, La Dolce Vita offers a setting where this approach takes on a unique dimension. Every corner becomes an opportunity to visually narrate the atmosphere: soft reflections on polished surfaces, warm glows at dusk, spontaneous compositions between glasses and linens. Thus, the focus isn’t only on the dish itself, but on everything that surrounds it—what happens before and after each bite.
Consequently, the aim of this photographic series is not to illustrate a menu, but to tell a sensory story. A story made of contrasts—a mix of natural and artificial light, architectural lines that frame without rigidity, and visual silences that let the images breathe. In particular, the camera seeks to capture the ephemeral: a moment of stillness, a shimmer at the bar, the trace of a conversation left on a just-cleared table.
